Let’s Make Mead!
Time: 5:30pm - 7:00pm
What is a Mead? Simply put it is Honey Wine.
It is regarded as the ancestor of all fermented drinks.
It is easy to make and once mastered opens the door to a world of delectable home brews. We will talk about Mead, Melomel (Mead made with fruit) Metheglin (made with herbs and spices), and Braggots (made with malted grains). Also exploring the difference between a Dry, Medium and Sweet Mead. Believe it or not some Meads are as dry as champagne !
In class we will make a Winter Spiced Mead, learn how to rack, and explore the tastes of a few Mead variations.
Join us Friday August 30 to make a Mead that will be ready for holiday gifts or winter parties. All materials provided.
