Local Grains: Milling and Cooking
Interested in learning about organic, locally grown heirloom grains? Right here in the Willamette Valley our farmers grow spelt, emmer, barley, rye, wheat and teff. Learn the benefits of cooking with whole grains and milling your own fresh flour. While sampling some whole grain recipes, students will have a chance to mill a variety of whole grains, bake scones with fresh milled flour and take home recipes and a sampling of local, organically grown grains.
