Using appliances that you may already have, and techniques that are easy to learn, Trevin Miller of Mr. Green Beans will show you just how easy it really is to roast your own coffee. Class fees include a pound of raw coffee to take home and roast yourself. All materials are provided.

In this class, you will learn about the pros and cons of including dairy in your diet. You will receive dairy free recipes, samples and handouts as well as learn to make your own almond milk. Each participant will go home with their own pint of almond milk.
The instructors, Gary and Nancy Leahy, are health coaches certified through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York City. They have been lifelong farmers and remain involved with the agricultural industry. Gary and Nancy have three grown boys. Their passion for nutrition will help guide and educate you on what are the best choices for you as an individual.

Fall is in the air and it’s time for children to start crafting for the holidays (and time for parents to go out for a nice relaxing dinner). Our own Sarah Tollefson is hosting a craft night for kids at the shop. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 are welcome to come do seasonal crafts, bake a fruity fall treat and visit with the homestead animals. The class will last for two hours (6:30 to 8:30) and costs $20 per child or $35 for two.

Anyone who has enjoyed the delicious pasta at Sellwood’s own a Cena restaurant can appreciate the artistry of pasta maker Jason Tom. Now you too can learn to make fabulous pasta using locally sourced ingredients. Discover the importance of using fresh farm eggs and fresh milled flour, explore the many shapes of pasta, and learn recipes and techniques for using them in your own dishes. Each student will go home with a bundle of pasta and the know-how to make pasta from scratch at home.

Join Ethan and Ashley of feastworks as they teach you different methods for trussing, seasoning, stuffing, and cooking your turkey. You will also get a hands on lesson in trussing and breaking down chicken and take one home ready to cook for dinner that night. Then you can watch and participate in a chicken sausage demonstration and take some home with you!
